LeziBook

Read a PDF aloud

Papers, course notes and PDF books on your phone can all be listened to with natural voices. LeziBook splits chapters by the headings in the file and keeps pictures, tables and footnotes in place.

Three steps

  1. Open the PDF Pick a file on your phone, or tap Share in Gmail, Drive or a chat app and choose LeziBook. The app finds the contents and the headings to split chapters.
  2. Pick a voice Open Voices, preview and download one over Wi-Fi. There are eleven Vietnamese AI voices and a light voice of about 60 MB for older phones. Until you download one, the app uses the phone's own voice.
  3. Press play Sound in under two seconds. The sentence being read lights up; tap any sentence and the app reads from there. It keeps reading with the screen off, with controls on the lock screen.
Can it read a scanned PDF?

Not yet. A scanned PDF is one where each page is just a photo; there is no text in the file for the app to read. A PDF with selectable text works normally.

Does it need the internet?

No. Download a voice once over Wi-Fi; after that reading, listening and the sentence highlight all run on the phone, even in airplane mode. The book file never leaves the device.

Is it free?

Listening to your own books is always free, with no limit on how many. A paid plan comes later for those who want more, such as AI clean-up of the text.
