Read a Word document aloud
Drafts, study notes and stories kept as Word, TXT or Markdown files can be listened to like a book. Numbers, dates, money and abbreviations are read the way people say them.
Three steps
- Share the file to LeziBook In Gmail, Drive or a chat app, tap Share and choose LeziBook. Or open the app and pick a file on your phone. Word (DOCX), TXT and Markdown all work.
- Pick a voice Open Voices, preview and download one over Wi-Fi. There are eleven Vietnamese AI voices and a light voice of about 60 MB for older phones. Until you download one, the app uses the phone's own voice.
- Press play Sound in under two seconds. The sentence being read lights up; tap any sentence and the app reads from there. It keeps reading with the screen off, with controls on the lock screen.
Does it open old .doc files?
The app opens Word files saved as DOCX. For an old .doc file, open it in Word, save it as DOCX and share that to LeziBook.
What if a name is read wrongly?
Select the word, type how it should be read, and preview it. The fix applies to one book or to all of them.
Does it need the internet?
No. Download a voice once over Wi-Fi; after that reading, listening and the sentence highlight all run on the phone, even in airplane mode. The book file never leaves the device.
